According to reports from Marca, Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera is not keen on joining Spanish giants Barcelona.
Ander Herrera has been a key figure for Manchester United since joining the Red Devils back in 2014 from Athletic Bilbao and due to his committed displays, he has gone on to become a popular figure among the fans.
With Nemanja Matic arriving to United over the summer though, Herrera has struggled for regular minutes on the pitch during the current campaign and there has been speculation that the midfielder could well consider leaving Old Trafford in search of more playing time.
In addition, Herrera’s contract with United expires at the end of the season and to further cast a doubt on his long term future at the club, Barcelona were said to be looking to make a swoop for the 28-year-old to replace the underwhelming Andre Gomes.
United would ideally like to keep Herrera though as he remains a quality player and as a huge boost in their hopes of staving off the advances of Barcelona, the midfielder himself has ruled out a move to Nou Camp – if reports from the Marca are to be believed.
Herrera in fact wants to stay put at United despite the lack of playing time and there is an option of adding another year to his current contract even if he does not pen a new deal.
