Manchester United shot-stopper David de Gea is reportedly trying to push through a future move to Real Madrid with the help of compatriot Sergio Ramos. The Spain international has been constantly linked with the European champions since his failed transfer in the summer of 2015

According to Don Balon, the 26-year-old is still keen on a move to Los Blancos and wants Ramos to sort out a potential switch to the Bernabeu. However, it is suggested that the deal is not straightforward with the Red Devils likely to play hardball over negotiations once more next summer.

De Gea is currently contracted at Old Trafford until the summer of 2019, although United have the option of extending his deal by a further 12 months. Earlier in September, the Spaniard admitted that he is living the dream of representing a club’s of United’s calibre, and he has displayed his commitment with a string of impressive performances this term.

The former Atleti graduate has been voted as the Premier League’s best goalkeeper in the past three seasons, and he has started the new season in prime fashion with six clean sheets in just seven top-flight appearances.
