Manchester United attacking midfielder Juan Mata has revealed that his side are in brilliant condition heading into the Super Cup final clash against Real Madrid.
Manchester United have enjoyed a very productive pre-season campaign of the United States, Norway and Ireland so far, and the Red Devils claimed victory in their final warm-up game of the season against Sampdoria in Dublin on Wednesday evening.
Now United prepare for a clash against European Champions Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup final at the Philip II Arena in Skopje, Macedonia and one can be sure that the Red Devils will be going all out to claim a victory on the night as it would be a huge confidence boost ahead of the start of the Premier League campaign.
Star attacker Juan Mata has been speaking about United’s chances of lifting the Super Cup and has revealed that his side are currently in ‘brilliant’ condition ahead of the clash before explaining that he is determined to end his hoodoo in the final after previously having suffered consecutive defeats with former club Chelsea in the annual curtain-raiser, first to Spanish side Atletico Madrid in 2012 and then to German giants Bayern Munich the following season.
Mata was quoted saying by FourFourTwo, “We [head into] the Super Cup in brilliant condition. I’ve been lucky to play two [Super Cup finals] and I’ve been unlucky to lose two. We will try again on Tuesday, but it will be hard against Real Madrid.”
