
According to reports carried out by the Daily Mirror, Manchester United still remain in the pursuit of Anderlecht star Leander Dendoncker.
Manchester United were in the market to sign a new midfielder during the summer transfer window and they eventually managed a huge coup by securing the services of Nemanja Matic from rivals Chelsea for around £40million.
The arrival of Matic has most certainly strengthened the United midfield significantly and with the Serbian international in the side, star man Paul Pogba has been allowed to flourish so far this season.
While Matic is certainly a wonderful option for the short-term, the Red Devils are still believed to be keen on acquiring another midfield player with a view to the future and the Daily Mirror have claimed that the Premier League giants remain keen on signing Leander Dendoncker.
Dendoncker was strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford over the summer for around £30million but the move for the imposing defensive midfielder failed to materialize.
Nonetheless, manager Jose Mourinho is believed to be monitoring Dendoncker’s progress and the record Premier League champions could revisit their pursuit for the talented Belgian international during the January transfer window.
