Manchester United have seen their €15m bid for Torino’s Matteo Darmian rejected, with the Turin club’s chairman looking for a fee closer to €20m.
United have been in the market for a new right back with Rafael out of favour and Antonio Valencia filling in, in the position.
A move for Barcelona’s Dani Alves amounted to nothing after he signed a new deal at the Nou Camp whilst long time reported target Nathaniel Clyne joined Liverpool for a reported £12.5m.
Seamus Coleman has been linked with a move to United but reports from Sky Sports Italia claim that United submitted a €15m bid for Darmian on Saturday, with Football Italia claiming United offered €12m (£8.5m) plus a further €3m (£2.1m) in performance-related bonuses.
The bid was rejected as Urbano Cairo is adamant that il Toro will not part with Darmian for less than €20m.
