Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian has issued a ‘come and get me please’ to Juventus, reports Tuttosport. The Italian full-back has ‘said yes’ to the Old Lady and could be on his way out of Old Trafford this summer as a result.
Darmian joined United from Torino in 2015 and has made over 80 appearances in all competitions. The 28-year-old has struggled for playing time this season, however, making only two Premier League starts, and only has one year left on his deal.
It’s unlikely he will be offered a new deal by United, so the Red Devils have a dilemma whether to cash in or risk losing him for free.
Manager Jose Mourinho has preferred Ashley Young at left-back and Antonio Valencia at right-back, while Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof have featured heavily at centre-back. Darmian has been linked with a return to Italy and Juventus may be his next destination.
The Mirror say the full-back would jump at the opportunity to join the perennial champions and is hoping they make an approach in the coming months. He cost United £13m three years ago and might cost the Italian giants a similar price.
