Manchester United to reignite their interest in French defender

Dayot Upamecano

According to reports from talkSPORT, Manchester United are revisiting their interest in acquiring the services of Dayot Upamecano.

Manchester United have allegedly been following the progress of Dayot Upamencano from his time with the youth team of Valenciennes a few years ago but the Red Devils decided not to follow through with their interest in the defender.

Eventually, Upamencano went on to join Red Bull Salzburg and having quickly impressed for the Austrian side, the 19-year-old earned a transfer to German Bundesliga title contenders RB Leipzig in January last season.

Upamencano has managed to acquit himself well in Germany as well and having been impressed with the defender’s progress over the years, Manchester United are now looking to revisit their interest in the youngster – if reports from talkSPORT are to be believed.

It has been claimed that United will look to launch a bid for Upamencano during the upcoming January transfer window after being less than impressed with summer signing Victor Lindelof but the Premier League giants will have to compete with AC Milan in the race to sign the teenage sensation.
