After failing to top their Champions League group, Manchester United have drawn Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain in the Round of 16 of the Champions League.
Under Mourinho, our team has been in miserable form in the Premier League but the performances in the Champions League have been better.
At the weekend, the Red Devils completely surrendered to Liverpool, who are currently leading the PL table but the Reds were easily beaten by Paris Saint-Germain few weeks back.
PSG comfortably sit at the top of the Ligue 1 table with a 10 point lead and two games in hand, so basically, they can firmly focus on the Champions League. Mourinho does have to worry about finishing fourth in the Premier League as well.
United’s biggest problem is their leaky defense. On the other hand, PSG’s biggest strength is their brilliant attack. They smashed the UCL group stage goal-scoring record last season by netting 25 times and this season, again, no team has managed to score more goals than them (17) in the group stages.
Therefore, the Old Trafford club have to shore things up at the back if they are to have a decent chance of beating PSG. Moreover, they should also improve the attack as well since star players like Lukaku and Sanchez have been misfiring.
On his day, Mourinho, who has won two CL titles, can upset any team in the world and last month, United were able to beat Italian giants Juventus in their own backyard. Could they beat the high flying French champions? Only time will tell.
