Manchester United willing to spend £50million on one midfielder?

Transfers are the main thing on everyone’s mind at Manchester United this week, especially addressing the weakness in Louis van Gaal’s camp in defence and the centre of midfield. It is now almost three-weeks since Ed Woodward said that there was a big money belt available for United to spend this summer, and as of yet nothing has been done.

But, the latest reports state that Manchester United are set to change all that, by bidding a whopping £50million for Real Madrid midfielder Angel Di Maria. Not only the transfer fee alone is mouth watering, but United are set to offer Di Maria a wage boost, handing him £200,000-a-week to convince him to move to Old Trafford, according to the Daily Mail.

The Mails figures claim the following; transfer fee £50million, wages £200,000-a-week, five-year contract.

It is not only Manchester United that are on the chase to secure the signature of Di Maria, French giants PSG were said to be the only destination that the Argentinian, but in the past week they have pulled out of the transfer due to financial fair play.

In other transfer news for United this week, they are set to complete the signing of defender Marcos Rojo this week, after a reported £16million fee agreed.

Di Maria would be a fantastic addition to the squad at Manchester United, but do we feel that the transfer fee and wages are too much?

  1. we need more players inorder to become poweful team my dream will be true when i saw angel dimaria playing for man united also we need at least two defenders such as: marco Rojo and mahdi benita

  2. United executives through Ed Woodward told us that money is never a problem, and that we have all it takes financially to out shine our competitors in this summer market. Action they said speaks louder than words. In view of the above, l personally couldn’t understand where the question of if “£50m is not too much for Di Maria?” Ed Woodward should prove to us once that actually United has the finance to contest the league this season. Finally, I’d wanna see the likes of Angel Di Maria, Autro Vidal, Bind and Caudrao at Old Trafford this season period!

  3. lets buy players and save our club from ebarasments,if Angel is costly, pay for juan CUADRADO,vidal and teo defenders.simply dat and we are champions again
