Manchester United Winger Determined to Bring the Super Cup home

Manchester United winger Anthony Martial has insisted that the Red Devils are determined to beat Real Madrid to clinch their second European Super Cup on Tuesday. United first won the competition back in 1991 where Red Star Belgrade by a 1-0 scoreline, and they have since tasted defeats versus Lazio and Zenit St.Petersburg in 1999 and 2008 respectively.

Martial did not have the brightest of campaigns in the United shirt last term as he scored just eight goals in 42 outing. However, he has managed to turn things around during pre-season after having impressed with his appearances off the bench whilst providing a goal and three assists.

Prior to Tuesday’s crunch encounter against Real Madrid, Martial has admitted that Real Madrid will be a tough nut to crack, but he is looking forward to bagging the Super Cup title following a positive pre-season on the whole for United.

“It’s going to be a tough match,” he told the club’s official website .”It has been up to us to prepare ourselves for it during these friendly matches, and to be ready to take home this title to Manchester. We are all looking forward to it.”

Manchester United won six of their seven outings in pre-season including the penalty shoot-out win over Real Madrid, while the 1-0 defeat to Barcelona was taken as a positive by Jose Mourinho.
