According to The Sun, Manchester United have to agree a £100m deal with Fulham for Ryan Sessegnon if they want to procure his signature this summer. The 17-year-old is reportedly on the radar of the Red Devils and other Premier League giants, but he’ll come at a high price.
United could be in need of a new left-sided player in the next 12 months as the long-term futures of Luke Shaw and Ashley Young are uncertain. Young has been first-choice in the defence this season, but he turns 33 in July and will be out of contract next year.
Shaw has had a public fallout with manager Jose Mourinho, can’t get a game in any competition for United this season and continues to be linked with a summer exit away from Old Trafford. If the 22-year-old does exit the club, a replacement will be needed, and few come better than Sessegnon.
The English u21 international rose through the youth ranks to the Fulham first-team in 2016 and has made 80 appearances in all competitions, scoring and creating 32 goals. Sessegnon is contracted with Fulham until 2020 and doesn’t seem desperate to leave the promotion-chasers, but United know how much it will cost if they want to try.
