Spurs make Man United’s £70million-rated star a top transfer target to help Harry Kane: report

Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur have supposedly entered the hunt to sign Anthony Martial from Manchester United this summer. The France international has been earmarked as a potential contender to feature behind Harry Kane in the attack front.

According to Evening Standard, Spurs have joined the pursuit of the Frenchman as they seek to find another means of support to leading striker Kane. The north London side have closely monitored the attacker since his time with AS Monaco and they could be tempted to make a summer approach amid the player’s difficult situation at Old Trafford.

Martial, 22, had a strong start to the 2017/18 Premier League campaign and shortly after the turn of the year, he had scored in three successive top-flight games. However, with the arrival of Alexis Sanchez, his chances of gaining regular starts were more or less restricted and this ultimately saw a dip in form with no goals or assists between February and May.

The £70million-rated star has been associated with several clubs over the past month with Juventus being the most frequent of them of all but Spurs could present as an option, should they consider using contract rebel Toby Alderweireld in a part-exchange deal for Martial. Still, it would come as a surprise if Martial considers a move to Spurs where Pochettino has rarely tinkered with his attack front, barring an injury.

  1. So he’s worth £70m now and he can’t get a place in the team? Straight swap for Toby plus £10m cash to Spurs is more realistic!

  2. Define star …..

according to you it’s someone you bought at a ridiculous price that you wan’t to sell to us in order to buy a player we bought at a well-negotiated price because you can’t get the best out of him because your buying policy is useless.

We’ll take him for £20M and sell you the best central defender in the UK for £75M!!
