Manchester United defender Eric Bailly is reportedly prepared to consider a fresh challenge away from Old Trafford, should his current situation not improve under manager Jose Mourinho.
The Ivorian defender started the season as one of the first-choice in the central defensive department but he has fallen down the pecking order with just three Premier League starts from the opening eight matches.
According to ESPN, the former Villareal man is evaluating his future with the Red Devils amid the knowledge that both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are planning attempts to acquire his signature.
However, it is added that the Ivorian won’t push through a winter exit from United, though that may emerge as a possible case next summer, should he continue to remain a bit-part player under Mourinho.
Bailly’s career has United has been hampered by injuries and a drop in form in each of the previous two campaigns and the current one has not started in the best way either with gametime being a prime concern.
In the most recent game, Bailly was substituted after just 18 minutes against Newcastle United in the epic comeback win but Mourinho is said to have since contacted the Ivorian to reveal that the decision was tactical.
As such, it appears that Bailly’s career with United is not done in any case but he may need to improve on his performances sooner rather than later or else the thought of moving on could become a possibility.
