Manchester United is one of the most famous football clubs in the world, amassing millions of fans from various countries and becoming a billion-dollar brand unto itself. This has been made possible, of course, by the stellar performances given by various players over the years. If you’re someone who plans to bet on games at any point in the future, it would be a good idea to familiarize yourself with legends of the game.

These players have made the game exciting to watch for fans and have helped solidify the Manchester United legacy as we know it. Obviously, not all players are created equal and some have had a greater effect on football culture than others. Here are some of the greatest Manchester United players of all time.

George Best: True to his name, George Best is considered one of the best football players of all time and had an 11-year stint at Manchester United from 1963 to 1974. He was renowned for his dribbling skills and his contributions to the game.

Despite a troubled relationship with the media, Best is remembered for his sportsmanship. As he himself said. “They’ll forget all the rubbish when I’ve gone and they’ll remember the football. If only one person thinks I’m the best player in the world, that’s good enough for me.

Ryan Giggs: During his career, Giggs achieved 162 assists and 109 goals in 632 Premier League games. His achievements also included 13 Premier League titles, 4 FA Cups, 4 League cups, 1 UEFASuper Cup, and 1 FIFA club world cup. The Welsh midfielder was well-loved by fans of the club during his career and is the embodiment of passion for the game

Cristiano Ronaldo: One of the biggest footballers in the world, Ronaldo played for Manchester United from 2003-2009 and delivered stellar performances. He won every major prize during his stay with the Red Devils wearing the iconic number 7 shirt and without doubt, no one has been able to replace him as yet. He is the last Man United player to lift the coveted Ballon d’Or trophy (2008).

Wayne Rooney: From 2004-2017, Wayne Rooney had a stellar career as holds the record of being the team’s best-ever goal scorer with 253 to his name. Rooney was a versatile talent, who could play anywhere in the attacking third and was a consistent performer under the management of Sir Alex Ferguson. Rooney was the engine of the side and was the key man after the departure of Ronaldo.

Bobby Charlton: This list could not be complete without a mention of Sir Bobby Charlton. He is also the recipient of the Ballon D’or (1966), the highest honor in football. During his time at Manchester United, he scored a record 249 goals which was only recently topped by our second place, Wayne Rooney. Needless to say, Bobby Charlton is a Man U legend if we’ve ever seen one.

Out of the many, the above are some of the greatest Manchester United players of all time. Their contributions to the game stretch beyond just the club but to the game of football itself.
