Manchester United have reportedly given their entire backing to manager Jose Mourinho despite the lacklustre performance in the 3-2 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend.
The Red Devils had started the campaign with a decent showing against Leicester City at Old Trafford but they could not continue on a winning run at Brighton, where their defensive and attacking play was shambolic.
As such, a section of the club’s supporters have already called for Mourinho’s sacking with Zinedine Zidane seemingly interest in the job but a United insider has now dismissed the speculation saying: “Why would we discuss Zidane when there is no job?”.
Earlier on Sunday, there had been plenty of positivity within the squad and the supporters were in good mood to witness the partnership of Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial in the attack front.
However, things thereafter turned sour with Brighton making the best use of their physique whilst the United forwards were restricted of service which contributed to just two efforts on target through the game.
United are now scheduled to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Monday night and the match is certainly a must-win, given their title rivals could hold a six-point lead with another negative result.
