Manchester United have been in search of a quality defensive midfielder for some time and once again, the name of Marcelo Brozovic is once again in the lime light.
Last month, Calcio Mercato reported that the Old Trafford outfit would be serious about signing the Croatian international, who will be out of contract in June next year.

More recently, Inter Live have reported that so far, the Nerazzurri have failed to agree a new deal with the 28-year-old holding midfield star. It is stated that that the Serie A champions want to close a deal of around 5 million euros per season but the player is demanding at least 6 million euros annually.
The Italian news source have mentioned that the player has been offered to Manchester United, Spurs, PSG and Newcastle, by his agent and father.
It must be noted that currently, the World Cup finalist is earning a relatively low salary of 4.2 million euros a year i.e. £68,000-a-week (TMW). Even young Mason Greenwood earns more than him – £75,000-a-week (The Sun).
The 68-capped international was a key member of the Inter Milan side that won the title last season under Antonio Conte and he is still an important player.
Man Utd need a proven quality defensive midfielder and if they can get someone like Marcelo Brozovic for cheap, then it would be brilliant. In my view, the Red Devils should not wait for the expiry of his contract and must move to sign him in January?
