England international Marcus Rashford has thanked the contribution of Zlatan Ibrahimovic towards his development at Manchester United.
The 20-year-old had been fairly new to the United first-team during the 2016/17 season, but he managed to finish the season in a strong fashion with 11 goals across all competitions.
Rashford had played second fiddle to Ibrahimovic for the centre-forward role for most of the campaign, but towards the end, the youngster had to take charge up front after the Swede succumbed to a season-ending knee injury.
The Swede returned to first-team action with United during the month of November, but unfortunately, he could not sustain a lengthier run with the squad, after suffering a complication on his knee issue.
United confirmed the release of Ibrahimovic from his contract on Thursday evening, and shortly after, Rashford paid tribute to the 36-year-old for his contribution towards his progress.

Rashford has a long way to go in his career before being compared to a player of Ibrahimovic’s calibre, but the Englishman certainly has the potential, having exhibited his brilliant finishing skills against Liverpool earlier in the month.
Meanwhile, Ibrahimovic appears to have already found his next club with Sports Illustrated reporting that the big Swede has agreed on a two-year contract with Major League Soccer outfit LA Galaxy.
