Manchester United will be aiming to continue their winning start to 2018 when they take on Burnley at Turf Moor this weekend. The Red Devils played out a 2-2 draw versus Burnley at Old Trafford last month, but they should have the advantage this time around with the Clarets winless in six Premier League matches.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Lineup:
David de Gea kept his 13th clean sheet of the season during Monday night’s 3-0 triumph over Stoke City. The Spain international has been ever-present in United’s league campaign, and he is certain to keep his position for Saturday.
At right-back, Antonio Valencia is certain to maintain his role after his stunning opener versus the Potters. Ashley Young has served his three-match suspension, but Jose Mourinho could stick with Luke Shaw at left-back after the promise shown in recent weeks.
In central defence, Phil Jones is likely to keep his position for the eighth game on the trot, and he could be accompanied by Chris Smalling, who was preferred ahead of Marcos Rojo and Victor Lindelof in the previous outing.
Paul Pogba produced yet another man-of-the-match performance in the United shirt, and he will be aiming to continue his rich vein in form at Turf Moor, where he could be partnered by Nemanja Matic at the heart of the midfield.
Further forward, Anthony Martial is very much certain of his position after back-to-back goals in the Premier League, and he will start on the left-wing, with Juan Mata on the right, and Jesse Lingard slotting into the number 10 position.
Romelu Lukaku continued his impressive form after a head injury with another late goal versus Stoke. The Belgian now has 17 goals across all competitions, and he is the undisputed choice to lead the line this weekend.
