Manchester United will seek to end their recent winless run when they host Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon. The Red Devils have endured a mixed run in February and Jose Mourinho will want a positive result from his side this weekend in order to maintain the second position in the standings.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Lineup:
David de Gea showcased his talents in the Champions League on Wednesday night as he made a wonderful save off Luis Muriel’s header. The Spain international is certain to start between the sticks this weekend.
Antonio Valencia has been the preferred choice on the right side of the defence, and he is likely to consolidate his position with Luke Shaw probably getting the nod over Ashley Young in the opposite direction.
In central defence, Eric Bailly could make his first league start since November 4, and he will most probably be partnered by Chris Smalling with Phil Jones still recovering from a knock.
Paul Pogba lacked the readiness during the goalless draw versus Sevilla in midweek, and Mourinho may start him from the bench, thus Scott McTominay make another start alongside Nemanja Matic in central midfield.
With the home advantage, we would fancy the traditional three-man attack behind the main striker. Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford were both on the bench for the Andalusian trip, and we are anticipating them to start on the left and right wing respectively with Alexis Sanchez featuring in a number 10 position.
Romelu Lukaku could not find the scoresheet in the recent trip to Seville, but he put in a decent shift in the forward department with one glorious opportunity missed. He is likely to lead the line versus his former employers.
