Martial to start upfront, Predicted Manchester United lineup (4-3-3) to face Brighton

Manchester United will look to solidify their second position in the standings when they face Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League on Friday night. Jose Mourinho’s men have already secured their progress to next season’s Champions League after beating Arsenal by a 2-1 scoreline at Old Trafford last weekend.

Formation: 4-3-3

Lineup:

David de Gea could not add an 18th clean sheet of the season against Arsenal and he will be keen on a stronger performance versus the Seagulls. The Spaniard is currently on course for the Golden Glove with one shutout more than Manchester City’s Ederson.

In defence, Mourinho may opt to rest his regular full-backs with a view to the FA Cup final and Matteo Darmian and Luke Shaw could get a run on the right and left side of the backline respectively. However, the centre-back partnership could remain as it is with Victor Lindelof accompanying Chris Smalling.

Further forward, Paul Pogba has been a glowing influence over the past month and the Frenchman is likely to feature on the left side of a midfield three alongside Nemanja Matic and Marouane Fellaini. Fellaini has been more of a regular off the bench but he could be rewarded with a starting spot after his match-winner versus Arsenal.

Jesse Lingard struggled to find any consistency to his passing during the Gunners game last weekend and he could be axed from the starting lineup. As such, we are fancying Alexis Sanchez and Marcus Rashford to slot into the left and right wing positions respectively with Anthony Martial leading the line.

Romelu Lukaku is expected to miss a couple of weeks’ of action with an ankle issue and the time is probably right for Martial to prove his worth in the central forward position. The Frenchman impressed with his direct approach against Arsene Wenger’s side and he could prove a menace for the Seagulls defence.
