Manchester United play host to CSKA Moscow in the final Champions League group stage game. The Red Devils have literally secured their place in the knockout phase of the competition, and they will still want to continue their recent upturn in form with a victory over the Russian giants.
Formation: 3-4-1-2
Lineup:
Sergio Romero looks set to earn only third appearance of the campaign versus CSKA. The Argentine has not kept a clean sheet in his previous two matches versus Burton Albion and Basel, and he will hope to contain the opposition this time around.
With three-at-the-back, Victor Lindelof and Chris Smalling are set to start with no real back-up behind them. Alongside them, Axel Tuanzebe could feature in the central defence with Marcos Rojo likely to be rested for the derby this weekend.
Similarly, Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young could be rested for the midweek outing with Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind likely to take up their places in the right and left wing-back positions respectively.
Paul Pogba is another certain starter at the heart of the midfield, and he could potentially partner Ander Herrera, who should be afresh after his cameo performance at the Emirates last weekend.
Further forward, Juan Mata could be preferred ahead of Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the number 10 position with Anthony Martial likely to partner Marcus Rashford up front in a two-man attack.
Romelu Lukaku has managed just one goal since the start of October for United, but Mourinho could offer a chance to Rashford, who has recently seen his playing time reduced owing to the strong showing from Jesse Lingard.
