Manchester United take on Crystal Palace in Monday’s Premier League showdown at Selhurst Park. The Red Devils have suffered defeats in each of their previous two away games in the top-flight, and the manager will expect a better response against the Eagles, who have not beaten United in the division since 1991.
Formation: 4-3-3
Lineup:
David de Gea has been ever-present in United’s goal this term, and the Spaniard is expected to don the gloves once more for the trip to south London.
Antonio Valencia has been the first-choice on the right side of the attack, and we may see Luke Shaw replace Ashley Young on the other side of the central defenders. Eric Bailly appeared for the final 11 minutes during the recent outing versus Chelsea, and the Ivorian may get the nod to start alongside Chris Smalling at the heart of the defence.
In midfield, Mourinho has stuck with a three-man partnership of late, and this may well the case on Monday night with the Portuguese likely to deploy Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba in the same line-up. Alongside the pair, Nemanja Matic is a certainty to start in the centre of the park.
Anthony Martial struggled to make much of an impression against Chelsea, barring the key assist for Lukaku’s goal, and he could possibly be benched for Jesse Lingard on the right wing. Other than this, we are anticipating Alexis Sanchez to feature on the left side of the attack with Romelu Lukaku leading the line.
