Injury Blow: Manchester United Star Midfielder likely to miss Two Big matches

Juan Mata suffered a left ankle injury in a 2-1 victory over Real Salt Lake City and will probably miss United’s next two games against Man City and Real Madrid.

Real Salt Lake’s defender Sebastian Saucedo was the culprit for Mata’s injury, and Mourinho wasn’t impressed with defender’s tackle. A few minutes later, Antonio Valencia decided to avenge his teammate with an ugly tackle on Saucedo, for which he received a red card.

While Saucedo left the Rio Tinto Stadium on crutches, Mata’s injury is not that serious as Jose Mourinho explained. “Mata has a big ankle but I hope nothing important.” “A few days, a week maybe,” the gaffer said.

Mata is an important part of the first team, and Mourinho will likely keep him on the bench for the upcoming two games as he doesn’t want to gamble with Juan’s ankle. The defender Matteo Darmian also picked up a knock, but he should be available to play against City on Thursday in Houston.

Mourinho is well aware that injuries are the part of the game and he is confident that his players will gain enough fitness ahead of the new season.
