Manchester United have been linked with Serbian midfielder, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, for a long time and the latest reports coming from Italy are interesting.
As per today’s version of Correire dello Sport (news image provided below), after investing 50 million euros on eight purchases, Lazio could offload the creative star in the current transfer window.
Transfer: £50.6m midfielder prefers to wait for Man United offer to secure move – Correio da Manha
The Italian news source have mentioned that the 27-year-old has rejected the likes of Arsenal and Newcastle but he is willing to finally agree a move to Man United.
It is stated that the Red Devils have not replaced Paul Pogba and after failing in the pursuit of Frenkie de Jong, they could submit an offer (after 15th August) to sign Milinkovic-Savic.
CdS claim an offer worth 50 million euros is not going to be enough but a bid of 65 million euros (£54.7million) could make Lazio give in if the midfielder pushed and reached an agreement with Man United.
The former Genk man was reportedly very close to moving to Old Trafford in the summer of 2019 and now, he is willing to say ‘Yes’ to the PL club. Will he able to finally complete the move this time? We shall see.
In the season opener, Ten Hag started with the likes of Fred and McTominay in the center of the park and the duo, not for the first time, were unable to guide the play at home.
United clearly lack creativity in the midfield and someone like Milinkovic-Savic can solve the dilemma. The Serbian is one of the most creative CMs around and last term, he directly contributed in 23 goals for Lazio.
Have your say – Should Man United offer £54.7million to finally sign him?
United definitely need to sign Milinkovic – Savic and knock the De Jong deal on the head. What’s the use in wasting time on a player who doesn’t even want to play for United. The Glazers need to be shown the exit door now. They have milked the club for far too long, and it now has to stop.
