Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed ahead of his side’s clash against Everton that Luke Shaw has returned back to full fitness.
Manchester United were handed a huge blow after it was revealed that Paul Pogba will be out for at least the next six weeks as he picked up an injury during the Red Devils’ midweek 3-0 Champions League victory over Basel on Tuesday night.
The French midfielder is now certain to be missing United’s upcoming Premier League encounter against Everton at Old Trafford on Sunday but in some positive news ahead of the clash, manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that defender Luke Shaw has returned to full fitness.
Speaking in a press-conference, Mourinho said, “Luke Shaw is not injured anymore so is a question of form, is a question of option but is not injured, he’s recovered.
“Marcos Rojo is still in the timings of such an important injury, everything went really well, but is not training in a normal session, just parts of it, so he probably has a couple of months.”
Shaw has struggled at Old Trafford since his £30million move from Southampton back in the summer of 2014 and he failed to impress Mourinho as well due to his alleged lack of work rate.
It is clear to see that Shaw now need to prove his worth during the current campaign in order to salvage his United career and his return to fitness for the first time since April is certainly a big boost for the Red Devils ahead of a very busy schedule.
