Jose ‘passionate about’ Man Utd deal with Real Madrid for 26-year-old ‘spoilt child’

According to Diario Gol, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is ‘passionate about’ a deal with Real Madrid for their ‘spoilt child’ Lucas Vazquez.

The 26-year-old returned to Los Blancos in 2015 from Espanyol and has gone on to make 134 appearances in all competitions, scoring and creating 56 goals. Vazquez has been something of a first-team regular this season too, racking up 51 appearances across the board, but his future at the Bernabéu is in doubt.

Diario Gol believe the Spanish international could be tempted to leave Real for a club willing to give him even more opportunities in the side, as he’s been occasionally taken off in big European games or given a less familiar right-back role to allow the more creative players a place in the side.

While Mourinho isn’t planning to strengthen his side’s attack this summer, perhaps unless United sell one or two existing players, Vazquez could be a good right wing-back option. Antonio Valencia currently occupies the role, but he turns 33 in August and is out of contract next year.

Vazquez is a hard-working and pacey right-sided player who could improve the United squad. It’s hard to see him leaving the back-to-back European champions, however.
