Mourinho ‘is a big fan of’ this player — Sends scouts to eye Carrick’s replacement

According to reports from the Sun, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has sent scouts to monitor Roma star Radja Nainggolan.

Manchester United are clearly doing very well at the moment and the Red Devils managed to maintain their rampant form with a wonderful 4-1 victory Champions League over CSKA Moscow in Russia on Wednesday night.

While manager Jose Mourinho could not have wished for a better start from his side, he is already said to be looking to improve various areas of his squad this summer and now according to reports from the Sun, the Portuguese tactician is plotting a swoop for Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan.

Nainggolan has consistently been linked with a move to United over the past few years and it is believed that Mourinho is desperate to finally bring the Belgian international to Old Trafford next summer as he is a big fan of the midfielder.

United are currently on the lookout for a replacement for veteran Michael Carrick and Mourinho has allegedly been sending scouts on regular visits to Italy to monitor Nainggolan and there is now a strong possibility that the 29-year-old could move to Old Trafford next season.

An Old Trafford source told the Sun, “Jose sent scouts to the game to look at a number of players, but most importantly Nainggolan. He is a big fan of his. Griezmann was also looked at, but we know everything we need to about him already.

“They are going to go back in for him next summer, that’s for sure. The main thing is to replace Michael Carrick, though. Jose had wanted to sign Nainggolan as far back as his days at Chelsea, he is that big a fan.”
