Manchester United attacking midfielder, Andreas Pereira, has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford for yet another season.
Last term, the Brazilian international played on loan for Italian Serie A side Lazio, and the latest reports suggest that now, he is heading to his homeland to play for Flamengo.
Transfer: Man Utd told £51million will get signing done – Player wants Old Trafford move
According to The Athletic, the 25-year-old is close to joining the South American club, who have qualified for the Copa Libertadores semi-finals. It is stated that the move will be a one-year loan with an option to buy for a fee of €20million (£17million).
In Brazil, O Dia have reported that the Red Devils have accepted the conditions of the transfer and the Samba player, who was on the bench in the opening Premier League fixture vs Leeds United, will be heading to Flamengo for 12 months.
Similarly, Extra claim that the Brazilian side have reached an agreement with Man Utd to lure the player for a year. Flamengo are paying a loan fee worth €1million to hire the services of Pereira.
Pereira has been with the Old Trafford outfit for a decade but he has only started 24 games in the PL, so, he has not been able to progress. In the last campaign, he just started 5 games in all competitions for Lazio.
Therefore, he needs to join a club that can offer him regular playing time. Will that happen at Flamengo? We shall see.
His services are clearly not needed at Man Utd because Ole has got Fernandes, Pogba and Van de Beek who can effectively play in the central attacking midfield role.
That is the best they can do for him. More players need to leave so that fresh faces may come in. All the best In your new venture
