‘No chance’, Jose Mourinho confirms Man United won’t sell this star

De Gea MUFC

Manchester United head coach Jose Mourinho has stressed that there is ‘no chance’ of David de Gea leaving Old Trafford during this summer’s transfer window.

The Spaniard came on the cusp of joining Real Madrid in September 2015 but a delay in transmission of paperwork caused the move to fall through prior to the transfer deadline.

Since then, Los Blancos have been associated with an approach for De Gea on multiple occasions but the European champions are yet to come up with a renewed offer.

Speaking in his press conference ahead of the Arsenal game, Mourinho was questioned about De Gea’s future to which he emphatically replied that the Spaniard is going nowhere.

Obviously, De Gea had been desperate for a move for Bernabeu three years ago but he has since been content with his stay in Manchester. Moreover, the 27-year-old has also pleased the support from the English fans in comparison to those in his homeland and this pretty sums up any transfer talk regarding him.

De Gea’s present contract is due to expire at the end of next season but United can extend the deal for another 12 months. Talks are already underway over a probable extension which is likely to be sealed prior to the summer World Cup.
