Manchester United fans were unimpressed with the performance of Phil Jones during the FA Cup final defeat to Chelsea on Saturday. The Red Devils had the opportunity of securing a record 13th FA Cup title but it was not meant to be after Eden Hazard scored the only goal via the penalty spot for the Blues.
Jones was a surprise starter ahead of Eric Bailly to partner Chris Smalling in the Cup final and his performance has unquestionably caused a stir on social media. The fans were clearly disappointed with Jones’ handing a match-defining penalty and this eventually summed up the result as the Blues held onto their lead.
There’s no excuse not to play Bailly. The World Cup squads have been announced. Jones is going, Smalling isn’t. You have to play your best players. #mufc

Why. Does. Phil. Jones. Still. Play. For. Manchester. United.

Bailly should never have been on a bench when Phil Jones or Smalling is starting a match
That’s just basic common sense

How can you leave Eric Bailly on the bench and start a pairing of Smalling-Jones. Unbelievable.

My manager leaves Eric Bailly, our best CB, on the bench, whilst still playing Chris Smalling and Phil Jones. I give up.

Phil Jones no positioning no awareness lack of composure, injury prone, and no pace to make up for all these things

Mourinho had witnessed Jones and Smalling put in a strong showing during their semi-final triumph over Spurs but the supporters were clearly not delighted with the fact that Bailly failed to earn his appearance against Chelsea.
The Portuguese has not spoken about the prospect of a defensive overhaul for the summer but judging by Saturday’s performance, Jones should certainly be one of the centre-backs heading through the exit door to facilitate a new signing.
can someone tell Morinho skills far better than physical in the field of modern football the like Pogba of could not edge the light Hazard
