Manchester United are reportedly looking into a deal for AS Monaco winger Thomas Lemar with Inter Milan still playing hardball over negotiations for Ivan Perisic.
According to The Record, Lemar has emerged as a fresh target for the Mancunian giants following a standout season last term where he bagged 14 goals and 17 assists across all competitions.
Lemar, 21, has been constantly linked with a switch to league rivals Arsenal this summer, but the club have failed to find a breakthrough in terms of transfer fees.
Monaco have insisted that Lemar would be staying put at the club for the season, but The Record reckon that the attacker could be available for a price of around €60m this summer.
Lemar was a key performer for the Principality club last term as they secured their first league triumph in 17 years, while they also surprisingly reached the final four of the Champions League.
The France international has the ability to feature across the attack, and this is a quality which Jose Mourinho often favours in his players. On top of it, the youngster can provide great crosses from dead-ball situations and this could bring the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba into play.
United have reached a standstill in the pursuit of Perisic due to his £48m price tag and it will be interesting to see whether Mourinho will move in for Lemar, who could be considered as a long-term prospect.
