Another day, another story on Raphael Varane, who is consistently linked with a move away from Real Madrid.
According to Manchester Evening News, Man Utd moved in with an offer of £50million to sign the French international, whose current deal at the Bernabeu will expire in just 12 months.

However, MEN report that the move has been turned down by the 13-time European Champions, who are only going to sell their prized asset if their asking price of £80million is met.
It is stated that the Red Devils are reluctant to meet the above mentioned price and rightly so, because the player can be lured for free next year.
In all fairness, if there were even a couple of years left on his contract, Varane would have been worth £80million because he is one of the best central defenders in the world.
Last season, Man Utd started badly but eventually did well defensively. However, when Maguire got injured, Ole’s men leaked goals on regular basis. Not to forget, Liverpool’s title defense derailed mainly because their superstar defender, Van Dijk, missed majority of the campaign after undergoing knee surgery.
So, Solskjaer must sign an experienced star to command the backline and there aren’t many around better than World Champion Raphael Varane, who has won four Champions League titles.
