Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed two starters in the lead-up to Tuesday night’s Champions League game versus CSKA Moscow. The Red Devils are currently leading Group A with 12 points, and they are assured of the top spot unless they suffer a damaging defeat at Old Trafford.

Speaking to MUTV on Monday, Mourinho revealed that Sergio Romero will be donning the gloves for the second European match on the trot with David de Gea likely to earn an extended rest following his heroics against Arsenal, which included a Premier League record-tying 14 saves.

Meanwhile, Paul Pogba is another definite starter for the midweek outing with Mourinho stressing that the Frenchman is in the right frame of mind despite his red card versus the Gunners, he said: “He’s very happy to play tomorrow. It’s the match that matters. He plays tomorrow.

“Of course, he’s a bit tired because it was a huge match last weekend and just two days to recover for CSKA. But he’s very happy to play tomorrow and to try to keep his momentum because since he was back from injury, he’s been phenomenal.”

Mourinho was also posed a question on the involvement of Luke Shaw, to which he admitted that the Englishman will be in the matchday squad, although he could not guarantee the left-back’s involvement from the off.

Manchester United have a tough derby coming up against Manchester City over the weekend, and we could potentially see plenty more changes to the starting lineup for a game which the Red Devils should win based on their impressive home form.
