Paris Saint-Germain Star Confesses His Love for Manchester United

Thomas Meunier

Paris Saint-Germain defender Thomas Meunier has confessed his love for Manchester United during a recent interview in France. The Belgium international has further classed them as the ‘real’ team in Manchester while taking a subtle dig at cross-city rivals Manchester City.

The 26-year-old has firmly established himself at Parc des Princes, and he is currently sharing the duties alongside summer signing Dani Alves on the right side of the backline. In a promotional event for FIFA 18, covered by SFR Sport, the former Club Brugge man was quizzed on which he usually likes to play, he said h/t M.E.N: “Paris Saint-Germain, of course, but that’s mostly to put myself up top. Other than that, Manchester.”

When stressed to describe on which Manchester side, the right-back insisted that he is the fan of the ‘real one’, Manchester United, he added: “United. The real one. Because I’ve always been a Manchester fan.”

Despite performing at a consistent level at Paris Saint-Germain, Meunier has been keeping a close watch on proceedings at Old Trafford with compatriots Romelu Lukaku and Marouane Fellaini plying their trade under Jose Mourinho.

United are likely to need a new right-back to succeed Antonio Valencia in the future, and Meunier could emerge as a potential target having previously revealed his intention to play for the club.
