Manchester United secured a 2-0 victory against Swansea at Liberty Stadium thanks to Jesse Lingard who scored a magnificent brace and sent his team to the 1/4 finals of the Carabao Cup.
The England international collected Marcus Rashford’s flick and calmly placed the ball around Kristoffer Nordfeldt in the 21st minute and gave an early lead to the Red Devils. United controlled the match in the second half, and in the 59th minute, Axel Tuanzebe found Matteo Darmian on the right flank; the Italian produced an accurate cross that met Lingard who scored a fantastic header to double the lead. Only moments later, social networks exploded reacting to Lingard’s goal, so here are how some Twitter users responded to Jesse’s exceptional finishing:
GOAL: Swansea City 0 – 2 Manchester United. JESSE LINGARD – WHAT A BLOODY HEADER THAT WAS. #Swans #MUFC

It was Lingard's night for Man Utd. Paul Pogba will be so proud.

Lingard now has four goals in the last three Carabao Cup matches, and he is ready for the bigger role, while the player himself said about the work in training:
Lingard: "We've been working hard on the training pitch. We had to put things right today." #mufc

There is no doubt that Lingard’s double impressed Mourinho who will have to think twice when selecting the starting lineup against Tottenham in the weekend, and while Jesse is expected to start off the bench, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if we see him from the first minute at Old Trafford on Saturday.
