United’s signing of former Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin may have had an uplifting effect among Reds but it seems to have left a sour taste in the mouth for many Arsenal fans. The Frenchman was linked with a move to the Emirates with many pundits suggesting he preferred signing for Arsene Wenger’s side than coming to Old Trafford. Whether there’s any truth to that rumour remains to be seen but one thing’s for sure, many Gooners are feeling a tad miffed that Wenger didn’t move heaven and earth to sign the 25 year-old.
Arsenal have strengthened this Summer by the signing of Petr Cech and if they could also add some steel to their midfield there’s a good chance they’ll be able to mount a serious title challenge. Schneiderlin could have been a useful signing for them, but not naturally their attentions will turn elsewhere.
United may not be done at just Schneiderlin, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Memphis Depay and Matteo Darmian, there could be more signings heading to Old Trafford as the club still look for a striker following the departure of Robin Van Persie.
