It looks like Man Utd are closing in on finalizing their fifth signing of the summer after having already signed Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui. That is quite an impressive brigade to have.
Now, a long-drawn transfer saga could be set to come to its conclusion. As per Traspasos, Man Utd and PSG are looking for solutions to bring Manuel Ugarte to Old Trafford and the player has given his ‘Yes’ to the Red Devils.
Transfer: Man Utd table playmaker bid after huge drop in £42.4million asking fee – Report
It’s no surprise that the Uruguayan has agreed to a move to the Red Devils. Ever since the start of the transfer window, if there is one thing that has been clear about this transfer saga, it is the 23-year-old’s desire to join Erik ten Hag’s team.
As per Florian Plettenberg, Man Utd are now negotiating to finalize their fifth signing of the summer. Here is what the journalist had to say
“As reported in July and now confirmed, a loan with an obligation to buy is a possible scenario to finalize the deal between Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain for Manuel Ugarte!”
Casemiro has started off the season very well for Man Utd but Erik ten Hag will know that he needs to give the Brazilian ample rest to keep him fresh for the important games and not repeat the mishap that happened last season.
Signing someone like Ugarte would give the Dutch coach the tactical flexibility to choose when to use whom. It would also give the young but talented Uruguayan the opportunity to learn from a five-time Champions League winner.
It increasingly looks like Man Utd will get a deal done for Ugarte but that might be the last purchase of their summer.
Regardless, Dan Ashworth has had a solid first transfer window and it’s time it starts translating to results on the pitch.
