‘Our only positive’, Manchester United fans praise defender’s performance vs Brighton

Manchester United supporters were partly pleased with the showing of Luke Shaw despite the club succumbing to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Brighton & Hove Albion.

Jose Mourinho’s side were expectant to end their three-decade wait for a victory at Brighton but that was not the case with the home team making the most of their scoring opportunities.

As a result, the Red Devils suffered their maiden league defeat of the campaign with a number of players looking off-colour, though Luke Shaw produced another decent showing to please the fans.

Shaw netted what turned out to be the winning goal during the 2-1 triumph over Leicester City and he managed to continue his good form with an assist for Romelu Lukaku’s maiden strike of the campaign.

Despite Shaw’s efforts, the defensive organisation from United was from impressive and Eric Bailly, in particular, receive the bout of criticism after conceding a reckless penalty before the break.

After going 2-0 down, United managed to comeback into the game with a Romelu Lukaku strike but Bailly’s challenge certainly did not help the club as they went into the interval with a two-goal deficit.

In the second half, United barely threatened to find the scoresheet, barring the penalty right at the end which Paul Pogba converted for his second goal in as many matches.
