Chelsea attacker Diego Costa has revealed that his former manager Jose Mourinho has been in touch with him this summer amid his troubles at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea fans have been rocked with the controversy surrounding Diego Costa as the club told the striker during the summer that his services is no longer required despite him playing a crucial role in the Blues’ title triumph last season.
Since being told he is not required by Chelsea, Costa has decided not to return to London and to further anger the fans, the 28-year-old was videoed partying in Brazil while wearing the jersey of Atletico Madrid.
It is now clear to see that Costa will end up leaving Stamford Bridge under acrimonious circumstances and Atletico Madrid is his most likely destination.
In an explosive interview with the Daily Mail recently, Costa has now gone on to reveal what he has been up to over the past few months and also went on to claim that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has contacted him to wish him luck regarding the future.
He said, “Jose has called me, direct to my phone, just to check I am OK and to see how I am. He wished me good luck. I never had any problems with Jose, we have a strong relationship. Everyone was very sad when things didn’t work out in the end for him at Chelsea.”
Costa and Mourinho enjoyed a very strong relationship at Chelsea and although the striker is not moving to Manchester United anytime soon, the phone call is a testament to the two personnel’s mutual respect for each other.
