CM and RB move closer to signing for Manchester United – Reports

Manchester United look set to confirm the arrivals of their next two summer transfers following Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro.

The club continue their pre-season preparations despite injuries proving to be a sticking point in Erik ten Hag’s squad.

News – Man Utd bid under £55m after agreeing terms for signing – Report

As per TDF, the Red Devils are close to signing out-of-contract French central midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

We covered a story around a week ago that the ex-Juventus midfielder was ready to agree to a £162,000 a week deal with the club.

Rabiot is expected to secure the second successive free transfer of his career. He joined Juventus on a Bosman move from PSG and could be set to join Man Utd next. He would be a useful addition to Erik ten Hag’s roster.

The other player closing in on a move to Man Utd is Bayern right-back Noussair Mazraoui. As per Football Insider, the Red Devils are just waiting for West Ham to agree to the signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka before wrapping up a deal for the Moroccan international.

Although Erik ten Hag has Diogo Dalot for right-back, he is looking to secure an attacking upgrade to Wan-Bissaka.

As good as the English full-back can be on his day, his strength lies in defending and that isn’t the style the Dutch coach plays at Old Trafford.

Even if Man Utd were to sign Rabiot and Mazraoui, they must prioritize signing another centre-back. Especially with Yoro out injured, the defence looks wafer-thin on paper. The Red Devils cannot go into another season relying on Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans.

The Red Devils fans need to understand that there are a lot of holes to plug in the current Man Utd squad. One transfer window might not be sufficient to solve all the concerns. The club need to be patient in this project.

For a change, Man Utd are making the right noises in the transfer market. Let’s hope this translates into results and trophies in the years to come.
