Real Madrid attacker could consider Manchester United move

Real Madrid attacker Marco Asensio could reportedly consider a switch to Manchester United, should his situation at the Bernabeu not improve under Zinedine Zidane. The Spain international started the campaign in flourishing fashion with goals in either leg of the Super Cup triumph over Barcelona. However, he has since fallen down the pecking order with Isco getting the nod for the starting lineup.

According to Don Balon, the former Mallorca graduate could consider a fresh challenge elsewhere, if he struggles to become a regular with the European champions. Alvaro Morata left for Chelsea in a club-record deal earlier in the summer, and as per Don Balon, Asensio could make a similar Premier League move amid fears of reduced gametime.

Manchester United are, however, not the sole club linked with the Spanish forward, with arch-rivals Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain also keeping a close watch on his developments. Asensio has already contributed six goals and two assists to the club’s cause this term, but he is still unsettled due to Zidane’s decision reluctance to start him in the crucial European and La Liga games.

Real Madrid have had a dismal start to their La Liga defence with surprise defeats to Real Betis and Girona, and this sees them eight points behind Barcelona atop of the table. Next up is a league game versus Las Palmas, where Asensio is likely to play a part.
