European and Spanish champions Real Madrid are being associated with a summer move for Paul Pogba as they look to make significant changes to their current squad with a £263m transfer kitty. Los Blancos have endured one of their toughest campaigns since Zinedine Zidane took over, and their season’s success hinges on their progress in the Champions League.
According to The Sun, Zinedine Zidane’s side could plot an attempt to pursue Pogba in the summer after having missed out on his services to Manchester United 18 months ago. The Frenchman started his United career in a relatively slow fashion, but his second season has been a good success with a number of man of the match accolades to recognise his progress on the pitch.
Pogba snubbed advances from Los Blancos to join United in 2016, and it would come as a surprise, if he has any sort of interest in the Capital outfit, given they are on a visible decline over the past six months. At just 24, Pogba has the potential to lay a huge mark on United’s history in the coming seasons, and his influence could be crucial towards ending the club’s wait for the Premier League crown.
Alexis Sanchez’s alleged £500,000-a-week wages at Old Trafford seem to have unsettled the Frenchman, as per The Sun, but United are in a good position financially to negotiate a fresh deal for Pogba, who alongside David de Gea, probably deserve a pay rise for their stand-out performances this term.
For me transfer fees are just about to get more ridiculous. Any attempt by Madrid to sign Pogba would be met with a transfer fee of £1billion and if that does not put them off I would put a £1billion pound sell on clause in the contract which would mean any interest accumulated by Madrid selling would have to be over the billion pound mark. Now that stupid season is open let’s celebrate.
