Cristiano Ronaldo is reported to have reached a pre-agreement to re-join Manchester United during this summer’s transfer window. The Portuguese footballer has recently dropped a hint that he could leave Real Madrid and United have since been touted as the leading destination for his services.
According to Diario Gol h/t The Star, the 33-year-old is understood to have an agreement to join his former side, who are willing to offer him a two-year contract on his current wage package.
Judging by Ronaldo’s recent season, it would come as a huge surprise if Real Madrid are to consider his sale but they may not block his exit, should the Portuguese himself demand a new challenge.
Nevertheless, United would find it difficult to match his £100m plus price tag in addition to his staggering wages and it may not be a worthwhile business, unless he takes a genuine pay-cut.
At 33, Ronaldo has continued to prove his consistency at unquestionably the best performing side in Europe but there are no assurances over his performances further down the line.
Regardless of this, the fans would undoubtedly love to watch the Portuguese superstar don the United colours once again and it will be interesting to see whether there is any truth to his speculation.
