Record – Man Utd ready to pay £99million fee to secure signing

Goncalo Ramos - Portugal

Manchester United are consistently linked with Goncalo Ramos and are ready to pay a huge fee to get his signing done.

Yesterday, we covered story via Record stating that the Red Devils are preparing a massive bid to sign the striker from Benfica. Today, we have another udpate.

According to Record (news image provided below), the 21-year-old center forward’s most likely destination is Old Trafford.

The Portuguese media outlet have mentioned that Man Utd are ready to pay a fee worth £99m (115 million euros inclusive of add-ons), to sign the Selecao star this summer.

The 20-time English champions paid 105 million euros to lure Pogba back in 2016, so, if the above mentioned deal is agreed, Ramos will be United’s new record signing.

His current deal with the Eagles has a release clause of £103m and Record claim Benfica do not intend to offload their top scorer for anything less than £86m (100 million euros).

It is reported that Man Utd are willing to open the purse to secure the signing of the 7-capped star, who netted a hat-trick for Portugal at the FIFA World Cup.

As far as the competition is concerned, Real Madrid are also after Ramos as they search for a forward to replace Bollon d’Or winner, Karim Benzema, at the Bernabeu.

No player at Old Trafford has netted more than 20 goals in the league since RvP did it in the 2012-13 campaign. So, Ten Hag desperately needs a clinical goal scorer this summer.

Have your say – Should Man Utd pay £99m fee to secure the signing of Goncalo Ramos?
