Report – Man United chasing the signing of £45million playmaker – Face competition

Hakim Ziyech Morroco and Ajax playmaker

If reports in the media are anything to go by then Man United are chasing the signing of Ajax star Hakim Ziyech.

According to an exclusive story covered by The Sun, the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea are competing with the Red Devils to hire the services of the Moroccan international, who has been highly impressive for the Dutch club in recent years.

Transfer: £60million attacker ready to agree Man United move – Report

Last summer, the African playmaker agreed a new deal with the Eredivisie champions and the British source have claimed that he is valued at £45million.

The 26-year-old is a versatile talent, who can play effectively on either flank and even as a central attacking midfielder if needed.

Last season, the former Heerenveen playmaker was a key member of the squad that won the domestic double and reached the last four of the Champions League under the guidance of Eric Ten Hag. In all competitions, he featured in 49 games and directly contributed in 45 goals (21 goals and 24 assists).

As far as the current campaign is concerned, Ziyech has so far played 29 games in all competitions, scored 8 goals and has already provided no fewer than 21 assists.

The stats clearly suggest that the star has got the talent to improve Man United, who lack quality and depth in their offensive third.

However, it must be remembered that we signed Memphis Depay who was brilliant in the Netherlands for PSV Eindhoven but the Dutch international proved to be a flop at Old Trafford after replacing Angel Di Maria.

In your view, should Ole Gunnar Solskjaer splash £45million to sign Hakim Ziyech in the summer?

  1. You are comparing Depay with Ziyech. Ziyech has performed exceptionally well in UCL, against the biggest of clubs. And after watching him since the last season, I would love him at Utd, he’ll make a big difference for sure.

  2. Yes Man.Utd should bring back Wilfred Zaha as he is a very good player for their team. As now transfers are becoming difficult in the market and to take the opportunities as soon as they could rather than them not signing or having anyone after the transfer window closes. They could try to bring back good old players like Wayne Rooney and Tevez etc if they cannot afford other good players. Try and work a bit harder on getting some players soon as possible to fill in the places that need fixing.
