Manchester United have been linked with Spanish international Saul Niguez in the past and once again the Atletico Madrid star is on their radar.

According to Todo Fichajes, Man United have decided to try to sign the La Roja midfielder in the summer transfer window of next year.

The Red Devils’ record signing Paul Pogba could leave Old Trafford next year and in such a scenario, Saul would be an ideal repalcement.

The Spanish outlet have mentioned that the Rojiblancos star has got a release clause of 150 million euros but due to the ongoing pandemic, he should not cost that much. His current market value is 70 million euros (£62.5million).

Saul is one of the most complete midfielders in the world. Naturally he is a central midfielder but he can effectively play in the attacking and defensive thirds as well. Simeone has even utilized him in the left back role when needed.

Capable of maneuvering the ball with both feet, the 19-capped international is a quality dribbler and can strike goals from long distance as well. His current contract with Atletico will expire in 2026.

Pogba has been highly inconsistent for us and I’d love to see Saul replace him at Old Trafford. However, it must be taken into consideration that at the moment, we are struggling in mid-table whereas Atletico are joint top of the La Liga with a game in hand.

With Barca and Real Madrid not performing well, Simeone has a great chance to win the La Liga title again after 2013-14. Saul is a Champions League level player and United must ensure CL qualification for next season to hire his services in the summer of 2021.

  1. Man.Utd are playing at average ratings.
Their fitness and alertness of moving faster and more accurate passing especially in the box has to be a whole alot better.

From their training, it seems as if they are just jogging along slowly but not so as if with vigorous training.
I think that should be more of it in order for them to reach the top with more hard workouts.
