Manchester United have been linked with Crystal Palace star Aaron Wan-Bissaka for quite some time and the latest reports suggest that the Red Devils are ready to move in with an offer for the England international.
According to Evening Standard, the Old Trafford club are expected to launch an opening move of £25million for the 21-year-old. It is mentioned that the bid will likely be rejected by the Eagles, who are expected to want at least £50million for their prized asset.
At the weekend, The Mail revealed that Palace have slapped a mammoth price tag of £60million on the young right back to price Manchester United out of the market.
Transfer: Report – Man United willing to secure £105million signing
Wan-Bissaka had an impressive campaign for the London based team under the management of Roy Hodgson, who would probably want to hold on to his prized asset. He featured in 35 Premier League games and provided 4 assists for the club.
As far as Man United’s right back situation is concerned, last year, Jose Mourinho opted to lure Diogo Dalot from Porto but the Portuguese international mainly warmed the bench behind Ashley Young in the last campaign.
Young and Valencia are clearly past their best and it will not come as any surprise to see them leave in the summer. On the other hand, Dalot is not ready to regularly start for the first team as yet.
Therefore, a top right back must be lured, someone who would genuinely strengthen the back-line and Wan-Bissaka would be a top capture.
We shall see how the transfer saga unfolds in the coming weeks.
