Report – Man Utd at the last step to secure second signing

Erik ten Hag - Manchester United manager

Manchester United are one of the worst negotiators around, they took a lot of time to complete the first signing in the form of Mason Mount.

On the other hand, they already have seen multiple bids rejected for Onana but are at the last step to secure the second signing of the summer.

As per today’s version of Corriere dello Sport (news image provided below), the Cameroonian international is at the ‘farewell step’ and close to moving to Old Trafford.

United made two informal proposals worth 45 million euros and 50 million euros respectively but both were sent back by Inter Milan.

The Nerazzurri want 60 million euros for their prized asset, the fee must be satisfied and only the ‘last step’ is missing.

The deal has gone so far that even for a few ‘pennies’ less, the agreement will be reached and the transfer could materialize by Friday.

Erik ten Hag firmly indicated Man Utd to push for Onana and in consequence, David De Gea was allowed to leave on a bosman after twelve years.

As far as the terms of the contract are concerned, the 20-time English champions have worked out a five-year (or four plus one) deal with the goalie’s representatives.

The former Dutch Eredivisie shot stopper will ‘almost double’ the 3.5 million euros annual salary that he is currently earning with Inter Milan.

The San Siro outfit have targeted Sommer and Trubin to replace the African. The Bayern Munich star is the ‘easiest’ to sign but it will not be easy to reach an agreement with Shakhtar, who want 30 million euros for their goal keeper.
