Report – Man Utd have already inquired about signing German international

Manchester United are linked with a few central defenders and German international Niklas Sule is the latest name in the lime light.

According to renowned German source Sport1, Man Utd have kept an eye on the Bayern Munich star and they have already inquired about signing him.

The German outlet have mentioned that Chelsea were after the central defender before he opted to move to the Bavarians from Hoffenheim in 2017.

Transfer: Man Utd ready to move in to sign £60million star in summer

Sule was a key member of the German national squad that won the Confederations Cup in 2017. However, he only made one appearance at the 2018 World Cup in the last group game vs South Korea, who knocked the European giants out of the competition.

The Kaiser has regularly started for Bayern Munich and he has partnered veterans like Mats Hummels and Jerome Boateng in the central defense.

Both Hummels and Boateng are 30 and have started 18 league games each this season. Sule, 23, is the future of the German club and he has been preferred in the starting XI.

In the current campaign, so far, he has featured in 26 league games for the German champions, scored 2 goals and provided 1 assist as well.

In my view, Sule is a solid center half, who would strengthen the back-line at Old Trafford but the Bundesliga giants would not want to lose their prized asset. Bayern Minich have unperformed this season and like United, they also need to hold on to key players and re-build in the summer transfer window.

In your view, who should the Red Devils sign to strengthen their central defense?
