Report – Man Utd have made contact to sign £26million forward

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Manchester United have been heavily linked with Salzburg’s Erling Haaland in the past few weeks but the Norwegian is not the only striker on the Red Devils’ radar.

According to Foot Mercato, Man Utd’s interest in signing Nigerian international Emmanuel Dennis, who is valued at 30 million euros (£26million), is growing.

Transfer: Man Utd in talks to sign £51million play breaker in January – Face competition

The French source stated that the Old Trafford club scouted the 22-year-old striker at the weekend when Club Brugge faced Mechelen in the Jupiler Pro League.

The Belgian club won the contest 3-0 and Dennis scored the second goal of the game. Foot Mercato have further stated that Man Utd have initiated contact with the player’s agent as well.

Naturally, the former Luhansk player is a center forward but Brugge have also utilized him on the flanks whenever needed. So far, in the current campaign, the youngster has directly contributed in 9 goals (7 goals and 2 assists) in 18 starts.

Not to forget, back in October, he scored a brace vs Real Madrid at the Bernabeu and also provided an assist against the Los Blancos this month.

As far as his international career is concerned, Dennis made his debut for the Super Eagles in September. He has made two appearances so far and is yet to open his account for the country.

United sold Romelu Lukaku, who was the club’s leading goalscorer in the last two campaigns, in the summer transfer window and did not replace him. Our current first choice striker, Anthony Martial, has been out of form and the French international has scored just 2 goals in his last 9 league appearances.

Therefore, Solskjaer badly needs to sign a top center forward in the January transfer window. In your view, should Man Utd splash £26million to sign Emmanuel Dennis?

  1. Since big names wants big clubs, it’s better to get those who can come now. Martial obviously is a flop now. But no 9 needs a beast with very strong minds…. Is he really equal to the task?

  2. I think he’s a good striker….but Victor Osimhen of Lille in France would be a very good piece of business for the club.

  3. Whether we need to put money on the striker, it’s not a question but a need. United post-Ferguson have been below par, three departments that that needs serious strengthening for us to be a force to reckoned with, one a seasoned defender, a seasoned playermaker and a seasoned striker

Kyle Walker can be brought in, sell Lindelof and use that money to buy Kyler Walker coz Lindelof he’s not a Man U player, try and get either one of these ball players…Erikson, Tony Kroos or Dyabala and the for the striker go all out for Haaland who in my own opinion a United player

  4. Don’t buy big names buy young players who will become great team player. ManU need players 2 at the back 2 midfield and 2 forwards. Total investment 200mil. Sell leach progba and one or two others who are surplus. Do not sell player’s who are not playing well like martial
They will grow with the team around them
